How Journaling Improved my Life

I had heard that journaling was an excellent form of self-care, so I decided to give it a try. At first, I wasn’t sure what to write, but I kept at it. Sometimes I would even write down that I didn’t know what to write.
As the days passed, and I continued my daily practice, I began to write about what was happening in my life. Sometimes I even wrote about my hopes and dreams.
My journal became the place where I went to process my feelings. I found that I looked forward to my journaling time, and sometimes I even journaled twice in one day. I was starting to understand why people recommended the practice. I was hooked.
I noticed that I became more aware of the little glimmers that seemed to happen everyday. Prior to journaling, I didn’t take the time to reflect on my day. Now I took the time to reflect on all the good things that took place in my day.
I began to appreciate my friends and family more, and make time for each of them. I also became more present, and truly focused all of my attention on them.
